If you’ve decided to apply for a PEM fellowship, congratulations!
Now make sure to have all of your things in order for a successful interview season. Check out the timeline below for some tips for the upcoming 4 months. Check out the blog over the course of this week for more advice on how to prepare yourself for the application process. Don’t forget to check out the pemfellows.com website and look in the Applicant’s corner for more information.
June 2013: Begin preparing personal statement and CV. Find a photograph of yourself to upload to ERAS. Start asking for letters of recommendation. Contact your medical school to request a copy of your transcript and your MSPE (Medical School Performance Evaluation). You will need to upload these onto ERAS. Request an ERAS token to allow you access to the system.
July 1, 2013: ERAS opens for application submission. Request a copy of your USMLE transcripts to be sent to ERAS.
July 15, 2013: Fellowship programs can begin downloading applications.
August 7, 2013: NRMP opens.
August 31. 2012 – September 1, 2012: Application deadline (varies slightly by program)
Mid September 2012- Early November 2012: Interview season (vast majority of interviews happen in October)
November 6, 2013: Rank order lists due.
November 20, 2013: Match day!
