National PEM Fellows Conference 2010 - Houston, TX PDF Print E-mail

The first week of March 2010 marked the national PEM Fellows' Conference which was held in Houston, Texas.  Dr. David Jaffe, Dr. Charles Macias, and Dr. Jane Knapp were amongst the esteemed PEM physicians and mentors hosting the conference.
  Fellows from around the country from almost all PEM fellowship programs were in attendance.

The focus of this year’s conference was international child health, with Dr. Mark Kline and Dr. Mark Menary opening the session with inspirational accomplishments on a global frontier. Dr. Nathan Kuppermann continued to motivate today’s fellows by describing the long and winding road of research and the importance of persistence.

Focuses of the daily workshops ranged from simulation to grant writing to bedside teaching.  Overall the workshops offered something for everyone, staying true to current and buzz worthy topics.

The research presentations offered fellows a chance to discuss their projects and ideas in small group sessions with respected mentors and colleagues.
