The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center/Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York (formerly Schneider Children’s Hospital) in New Hyde Park, New York is currently seeking full-time and per diem Pediatric Emergency Medicine specialists. Interested applicants must be Pediatric Emergency Medicine sub-board certified or sub-board eligible. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and achievement.
The pediatric emergency department is a Level I Trauma center with more than 35,000 visits a year and an admission rate of ~20%. All shifts are covered by pediatric emergency medicine physicians with double to triple coverage during peak hours. The ED has a staff of pediatric emergency medicine RNs assigned exclusively to the pediatric area.
LIJ is an academic affiliate of The Albert Einstein Medical College. The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine provides pediatric training for the Pediatric and Emergency Medicine residencies of Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital and has a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship training program. Cohen Children’s Medical Center provides tertiary/quaternary care to children throughout the New York metropolitan area and has a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists.
