The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Service at Cape Fear Valley Medical
Center(CFVMC) in Fayetteville, North Carolina is seeking full time and part
time associates to join its pediatric emergency medicine group, Children's
Acute Care.
CFVMC is a 765-bed regional medical center that serves Fayetteville,
Cumberland County and southeastern North Carolina. The Center includes a
44-bed, level III NICU, a 28-bed Pediatric Unit, and 8-bed Pediatric
Intensive Care Unit. Pediatric medical staff support includes neonatal,
hospitalist, and critical care services.
The Pediatric Emergency Department (PED) is one of the busiest in the region
and has seen consistent increases in patient volumes since opening 10 years
ago. Currently, the 17 bed PED has over 39,000 visits per year and is still growing. The PED serves as the pediatric base for the county EMS system and provides trauma services for the area. The PED also oversees a highly successful pediatric procedural sedation service.
This opportunity places strong emphasis on clinical service and program
development. Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the PED and
participation in its growth and performance improvement activities.
Fayetteville is situated in the Sandhills Region of North Carolina, sixty miles south of Raleigh, the state capitol. It is known for its mild winters with an average annual temperature of 63 degrees and is surrounded by many
of the finest golf courses in the nation, including the famed Pinehurst No.
2. State highways link it to some of the most beautiful beaches along the
southeast coast and to breathtaking mountain views in the west.
Interstate-95, a major north-south corridor, provides access to metropolitan
centers such as Washington, DC, and to major vacation, historical and tourist destinations along the entire Eastern seaboard.
